How to get started
with Bonus Bonds

Bill Payments are useful for one-off purchases. They're also a handy way of purchasing Bonus Bonds as gifts for family and friends. Simply enter their personal details and bondholder number and give your loved ones chances to win $1 MILLION in the Bonus Bonds monthly prize draws, month after month after month. Your Bonus Bonds are first eligible for the monthly prize draws when you have held them for one complete calendar month following their purchase date. A minimum purchase of $20 applies.

To set Bonus Bonds up as a bill payee from your bank account, select your bank from the list below, read the instructions, then log on to your internet banking. Please note that your bank may charge fees for setting up and making Bill Payments. A Bonus Bonds certificate will be automatically mailed to the bondholder every time a Bill Payment is made to purchase Bonus Bonds. Once Bonus Bonds is set up as a bill payee, you can quickly and easily make more purchases of Bonus Bonds whenever you wish.

Generally, when setting up a Bill Payment, you won't need to enter an account name or number - usually, you can simply enter 'Bonus Bonds' into a search field to bring up account details. However, do ensure you enter the bondholder name and bondholder number in the required format.

If your bank is not listed here, please phone your bank for instructions on how to set up a Bill Payment to buy Bonus Bonds.

ANZ

To make a Bill Payment using ANZ internet banking you'll first need to set up Bonus Bonds as a biller. To do this:

  1. Call ANZ on 0800 103 123 or log on to your internet banking and send a Securemail to ANZ to request the setup - have your bondholder number handy.
  2. Log on to your internet banking and click on 'Pay Bills'.
  3. Select the account you wish to use to pay for your bonds.
  4. Select 'One-off transfer' and choose the date you wish to make the payment on, then click 'Continue'.
  5. Complete the process by filling in the required fields.

Bonus Bonds is now set up as a payee in your internet banking account. To purchase more Bonus Bonds in the future, select Bonus Bonds from your list of billers.

ASB Bank

  1. Click on 'Bill Payments' on the left-hand menu.
  2. Select 'New Bill Payment Payee'.
  3. Enter Bonus Bonds into the search field, then click on 'Search'.
  4. 'Bonus Bonds' should appear above the search field. Click these words.
  5. Complete the process by filling in the required information including bondholder name and number.
    The bondholder number must always be in the following format: 841x (space) xxxxxxx.

    If the bondholder number starts with a '0' (after 841x), then you must enter the '0', e.g. 8418 0123456.

Bonus Bonds is now set up as a payee in your internet banking account. To purchase more Bonus Bonds in the future, select Bonus Bonds from your list of billers.

The National Bank

  1. Select 'Bill Payments' under the 'Payments' dropdown menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on 'Create new payees'.
  3. Type 'Bonus Bonds' into the search field, and click 'Search'.
  4. This should bring up 'Bonus Bonds' as an option. Click these words.
  5. Complete the process by filling in the required fields including bondholder name and number. The bondholder number must always be in the following format: 841x (space) xxxxxxx.

    If the bondholder number starts with a '0' (after 841x), then you must enter the '0', e.g. 8418 0123456.

Bonus Bonds is now set up as a payee in your internet banking account. To purchase more Bonus Bonds in the future, select Bonus Bonds from your list of billers.

Westpac

  1. Click on 'Transfer Money/Pay Anyone'
  2. Click on 'Set up and save someone new to pay' in the left-hand menu.
  3. Enter 'Bonus Bonds' into the search field, then click 'Next step'.
  4. This should bring up 'Bonus Bonds' in the 'Select an organisation' box. Click these words.
  5. Complete the process by filling in the required fields including bondholder name and number. The bondholder number must always be in the following format: 841x (space) xxxxxxx.

    If the bondholder number starts with a '0' (after 841x), then you must enter the '0', e.g. 8418 0123456.

Bonus Bonds is now set up as a bill payee in your internet banking account. To purchase more Bonus Bonds in the future, click on 'Make payments to someone you've saved' in the left hand menu, and enter the details of when and how you wish to pay.

  1. Click on 'Make a Bill Payment' under 'Transfers & Payments'.
  2. Select 'Search for a company name to set up as a payee', then type in 'Bonus Bonds'. This should bring up the words 'Bonds Bonds'. Click on them, then click 'Next'.
  3. Complete the process by filling in the required fields including bondholder name and number. The bondholder number must always be in the following format: 841x (space) xxxxxxx.

    If the bondholder number starts with a '0' (after 841x), then you must enter the '0', e.g. 8418 0123456.

Bonus Bonds is now set up as a payee in your internet banking account. To purchase more Bonus Bonds in the future, select Bonus Bonds from your list of billers.

Kiwibank

  1. Select 'My Bills' under the 'Pay' dropdown menu at the top of the page. Select 'Immediately'.
  2. Choose the account you wish to pay from.
  3. To bring up Bonus Bonds payment details, enter 'Bonus Bonds' into the search field next to 'Or search for a new one', then click 'Find'.
  4. The words 'Bonus Bonds' should appear under the search field - click these words.
  5. Complete the process by filling in the required fields including bondholder name and number.
    The bondholder number must always be in the following format: 841x (space) xxxxxxx.

    If the bondholder number starts with a '0' (after 841x), then you must enter the '0', e.g. 8418 0123456.

Bonus Bonds is now set up as a payee in your internet banking account. To purchase more Bonus Bonds in the future, select Bonus Bonds from your list of billers.
